Hicks Placed on DL, Hernandez Activated

Jackson, TN - The Seattle Mariners have made a roster move on Monday that affected the Jackson Generals roster. Catcher John Hicks was placed on the 7-day disabled list after an injury occurred in the third inning of last night's game. RHP Moises Hernandez was activated from the disable list and will be available for use today.

HICKS, 23, has made only one error all season behind the plate. In 30 games this year, he has thrown out 11 of 21 base stealers (.524). He was hitting .083 in his last five games, and .248 overall for the season. Hicks played at the University of Virginia and was selected in the fourth round of the 2011 Amateur Draft

HERNANDEZ, 29, last pitched on May 12th, before being placed on the DL. Hernandez is 0-2 with a 7.94 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched. Hernandez is from Valencia, Venezuela.

Jackson's roster currently holds at 25 players, with three on the disabled list.
