River City Rascals News Release

Here we go! The River City Rascals are excited to invite you to the World of Mario on Wednesday, May 25th for our doubleheader versus the Evansville Otters. Game one is set to begin at 5:05pm.

The Rascals encourage all fans to come dressed as their favorite Mario character. Throughout the night, fans will have a chance to participate in the reinvention of their favorite Mario games. From the music to the transformation of our ballpark, you'll really feel like you're in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Missouri Department of Transportation will be giving away a Rascals schedule poster for all fans entering the park. Whether you're a plumber or a princess, there's something for everyone at this celebration of one of the most beloved video game series.

The inspiration for Mario dates back to the "Jumpman" character in the original Donkey Kong arcade game. Since the inception of Mario Bros. in 1983, the franchise and its characters have been featured in hundreds of installments across dozens of platforms ranging from the Nintendo 64 to the modern day Wii U. Mario has captured the imagination of multiple generations, making this theme night a family affair.

Rascals President Dan Dial had this to say. "Mario has been a staple of life at some point over the last 30 years for most people, whether they played it or they watched their kids play. Rather than sitting at home watching TV on a Wednesday night, why not come out and celebrate the Mario legacy and have some fun at a Rascals game?"

Tickets for this event or any of our other upcoming events can be purchased online at http://www.rivercityrascals.com/tickets/individual/.
