Fort Wayne Freedom News Release
The United Indoor Football Association (UIF) announced today that Scott Heighland of the Fort Wayne Freedom was named defensive player of the week. Heighland accumulated 6 solo tackles and came up with two huge interceptions at the end of the contest to thwart Greyhound drives in the Freedom's road win last Sunday. He also helped to hold the Ohio Valley offense to 20 points on the afternoon.
"Heighland is picking up right where he left off last season," said Defensive Coordinator Mike Quick. "Scott is one of the top defensive backs in this league."
The Freedom will host the Black Hills Red Dogs this Saturday at the Memorial Coliseum. Kick off is set for 7:30PM. Tickets are available at the Coliseum Ticket Office or through Ticketmaster.
