Houma Bayou Bucks News Release
Houma, La---The Bayou Bucks organization is proud to announce that player/coach Franklin Thomas has accepted a coaching position with the New Orleans Voodoo, an Arena Football League franchise owned by the New Orleans Saints. Thomas takes his new position after playing and coaching two seasons in Houma for the Bayou Bucks.
Thomas, a New Orleans native, prepped at John McDonogh. Following high school, Thomas started 3 seasons at Grambling State University. Thomas joins the Voodoo after spending considerable time in several different football leagues. His career spans from playing for the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints to playing in the NIFL and Arena Football Leagues.
Bucks head coach Jack Phillips had nothing but good things to say about the achievements of Thomas: "Franklin has done a tremendous job for us the past few seasons. He will be greatly missed, but this is a step in the right direction for his career." Phillips went on say that, "I feel that anytime one of our players or coaches move to the next level it is a positive reflection on the Bayou Bucks organization."
