
Haywood becomes an Alouette, Vaughn traded

Montreal, Apr. 21, 2006 - Montreal Alouettes Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that veteran defensive tackle Jerome Haywood signed a two-year contract plus an option with the club.
Jerome Haywood (5'10'', 280 lbs.) made 17 quarterback sacks since his CFL debut with the Ottawa Renegades in 2002. In four seasons with Ottawa, the defensive lineman tallied an impressive total of 146 tackles. Haywood played college ball at San Diego State University where he made the All-Star teams in three straight seasons. He is 29.
Alouettes trade Terry Vaughn
Jim Popp also announced the organization traded receiver Terry Vaughn to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for a conditional draft pick in the 2007 CFL Draft.
The Alouettes begin training camp on May 18 when the rookie camp opens. The official training camp opening will take place on May 21 at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.
