
Haws, Galeai Earn Blaze "Ironman" Award

The Utah Blaze is proud to announce this week's winners of the High School Prep "Ironman" Award. TJ Haws of Lone Peak High School and Eternity Galeai of Timpanogos High School are receiving the honor for outstanding performances on the basketball court.
In the Arena Football League, the Ironman Award is given to the player that goes above and beyond to help lead their team to victory in multiple facets of the game.
TJ Haws has averaged 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game for Lone Peak High School. The Knights are off to a fantastic 13-2 start this season, ranking second in the state. Haws earned Second-Team 5A All-State honors last season, and despite being just a sophomore, has already committed to play college ball at Brigham Young University. He received 42 percent of the online votes at www.utblaze.com.
Eternity Galeai earned 4A All-State Honorable Mention accolades last season after averaging 10.5 points per game. This year, she's off to an even better start. Galeai is the 10th-leading scorer in Class 4A at 14.43 points per game. She's led Timpanogos High School to an excellent 11-3 overall record, ranking third in the ever-competitive Region 8 league. Eternity won the award in impressive fashion, pulling in 78 percent of the online votes.
Members of the Utah Blaze, the local media and members of Prep Magazine will collaborate to select a list of candidates twice a month to be eligible for the award. The finalists be announced and then their family, friends and classmates will have the opportunity to vote for their candidate online at www.utblaze.com. The winners will be announced bi-weekly.
At the end of the school year, a male and female "Ironman Athlete of the Year" will be presented at a 2012 Utah Blaze home game. All award winners will receive a certificate of achievement and have their name and picture posted at prepsmag.com, utblaze.com and the official Facebook page of the Utah Blaze.
