Cincinnati Riverhawks News Release
(Cincinnati, OH) â The Cincinnati Riverhawks (6-7-0, 18 points) look to send the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (4-6-3, 15 points) home with their tails between their legs this Sunday, June 29. This will be the only time Cincinnati and Pittsburgh meet this season and the Hawks want to avenge a 7-0 loss in Pittsburgh in their last game of the 2002 season. Game time is set for 5:50 pm.
Cincinnati is riding high after a 5-2 win over division rival Indiana, a win which also secured the inaugural Border Battle Cup for the Hawks. Pittsburgh is coming off a win against Toronto which put them in a tie for last place in the Northeast division.
Cincinnati leads the 4-3-1 overall series between the two teams, whose match-ups are always hotly contested. Case in point, in the only tie in the series played in 2000, 3 players were ejected, 2 for Cincinnati and 1 for Pittsburgh.
The Riverhawks will be hosting a 45 minute pre-game clinic for Hawks Club members prior to the game. There will also be a halftime contest featuring the team's interns. For $1, fans can choose which intern will win the contest and those correctly choosing the winner will receive a ticket to the next Riverhawks home game.
ALLEN ELLER MAKES TEAM OF THE WEEK
Midfielder Allen Eller was named to the A-League's Team of the Week for Week 10 of the season. Eller was rewarded for his 2 goal performance in the 5-2 win over the Indiana Blast. The 2 goals brought Eller's season point total to 8 (3g, 2a). Eller was also named as the Riverhawks Player of the Match for the same game.
