Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

A furious Waterloo Black Hawks comeback fell short Wednesday in Chicago with the Steel hanging on for a 5-4 win.

The Hawks put 15 shots on net in the final period, while the Steel had just three. Brock Montpetit and Scott Pavelski were able to score in the third, but Hudson Stremmel made 13 saves.

Chicago had taken the lead just 34 seconds into the game on a goal by Dean Chelios. Andrew Miller and Eric Alexander would add goals of their own, while Ben Miller had the lone tally in the opening frame for Waterloo.

Mike Walsh and Greg Wolfe added to Chicago's advantage in the second period, in spite of a power play strike by Craig Smith for Waterloo.

The Hawks play the final game of three straight on the road Friday in Des Moines against the Buccaneers at 7:05.
