WATERLOO, IA - Mitch Ryan will make his 2006-2007 Waterloo Black Hawks debut this weekend.

The club's 2005-2006 leading scorer is returning after starting the season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Ryan, originally from Cloquet, MN, played in ten games for the Bulldogs, scoring a goal with two assists.

For the Black Hawks last season, Ryan was the only player to skate in all 60 games. He led the team in goals (27), points (51), and was second in assists (24). Between March 3rd and March 19th, Ryan scored goals in seven straight games, the longest streak of its kind in the USHL last season.

To make room for Ryan, the Black Hawks traded Sean Murphy to the Green Bay Gamblers.

The Black Hawks host the Sioux Falls Stampede on Friday at Young Arena beginning at 7:05. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive the first installment of Iwireless player cards for the 2006-2007 season. On Saturday the Chicago Steel will visit the Black Hawks, also beginning at 7:05.
