Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (Jun 20, 2014) - The Harrisburg Stampede will be hosting a Youth Football Challenge Saturday morning at Giant Center. The Challenge will use combine testing drills and results as the basis for a friendly competition between participants from ages 8 to 13.

The morning also includes an education component facilitated by Drayer Physical Therapy, the official athletic training partner of the Stampede. This portion will focus on the importance of a proper warm-up for young athletes, as a certified trainer will lead the participants through a dynamic warm-up routine.

"The vision behind this event was to create a multi-faceted event that was fun for the kids, but also educational and informative," said Marques Colston, President/General Manager of the Harrisburg Stampede. "This was an opportunity to introduce a unique and cutting edge twist on the basic combine, and have the kids enjoy some friendly competition."

The testing portion of the challenge will be powered by Sport Testing, a Toronto based company, using state of the art testing equipment. In addition to providing real time results, the Sport Testing platform will produce a unique profile for each participant tested.

Colston stated, "This profile can become invaluable to kids and their parents, as it can serve as a measuring stick for each kid as his or her individual athletic career progresses."

Registration begins at 9:00am, and testing begins promptly at 10:00am.
