Hattiesburg, MS - The Mississippi Hardhats (1-0) started the season with a bang by defeating the Magic City Court Kings (0-1) 122-113. The Hardhats jumped to quick 10 point lead with stifling defense and drop dead shooting. Leading 60 -45 at half, the Hardhats seemingly played dead and allowed the feisty Court Kings to take the lead. The Hardhats slowly awakened from the dead to use their veteran poise to hold off the Kings. Detrick White led the Hardhats with the seasons first triple double, collecting 14pts, 12rebs, and 10asst. Horatio Webster tallied 21pts, 8 rebs, and 6 asst for the Hardhats also. Antonio Storey with 25 pts and Marcus Austin led the Court Kings with 21 pts and 8 rebs.
