Alabama Hammers News Release
HUNTSVILLE - The Alabama Hammers have added a big body, some sturdy hands and a pair of solid returnees to their 2012 roster.
Former Alabama A&M and Titans offensive tackle Anquez Jackson and ex-Bulldog wide receiver Thomas Harris have signed with the Hammers, while linebacker Garry Pack and offensive lineman Rayshon Autman have re-signed with the team after impressive performances last season.
"Jackson and Harris were A&M standouts and I believe they'll thrive at the next level,'' Hammers coach Marty Hammond said. "Getting Rayshon and Pack back gives us a couple of key components for success."
Jackson (6-foot-3, 332 pounds) signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans last July after being a three-year starter and two-time All-Southwestern Athletic Conference performer for the Bulldogs. He started every game during his career at A&M and helped the Bulldogs reach the 2009 SWAC championship game.
Harris (5-10, 185) had 56 catches for 808 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior for the Bulldogs in 2009, and had 205 for 3,259 and 23 scores during his four-year career.
Pack (5-11, 180) - who transferred from Ole Miss to West Alabama - had 26 tackles and 2.5 sacks for the Hammers last season, while former Miles College standout Autman (6-4, 320) started five games down the stretch in '11.
