Hammers Set for December 15 Tryout at VBC; Sign Three More to Roster

Head coach Dean Cokinos has announced the signing of three more players as the Alabama Hammers prepare for the 2013 Professional Indoor Football League season.
Offensive lineman Brock Mueller, defensive back Marcus Wise and wide receiver Mike Ryan will all be reporting to training camp in mid-February.
"I am excited to have these three young men join our team, Cokinos said."We had all three players in Georgia at different times last season with the Force and I had high opinions on each of them. They are tough, team oriented and talented players and they will be a good fit for us in Alabama."
Mueller (6-foot-3, 310) was an all-conference performer at Bakersfield Community College and later played at Wingate University. Wise (5-11, 180) was a defensive standout at both West Georgia Albany St., while Ryan starred at Ferris State.
Alabama Hammers Announce PIFL Open Tryouts
Huntsville, AL - The Alabama Hammers will hold a free agent open tryout on Saturday, December 15th at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL to launch the start of their 2013 Professional Indoor Football League campaign.
This tryout will be the first of several hosted by the Hammers and recently hired Head Coach Dean Cokinos, who returns to Huntsville (where he won af2 championship with the Tennessee Valley Vipers of the af2) after a two year stint as the head man for the Georgia Force of the AFL. Cokinos has a strong reputation for finding and developing players. He has helped dozens of players move up to the NFL and CFL ranks while serving as a coach in the AFL and af2, as well as working in player personnel evaluating arena/indoor players for the Tennessee Titans. "We're in a talent rich region and hope to find some quality players who can contribute to our organization. We want tough, hardworking players and this will be the first chance for potential candidates to showcase their abilities." said Cokinos
Hammers Tryout Info:
When - Saturday, December 15th
Where - Von Braun Center South Hall, 700 Monroe Street, Huntsville, AL 35801
Cost - The tryout cost is $50 to pre-register and $60 cash the day of.
Time - Registration will begin at 10:00 am and the tryout will start shortly after.
Additional Info:
Cash only will be accepted on the day of the tryout.
There are no hotel arrangements being provided.
Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. Sharp
There is no full contact and therefore no need for shoulder pads.
Appropriate dress consists of workout clothes and shoes suited for Astro turf
No refunds accepted for any reason.
Tryout will be conducted rain or shine.
