Hammers Return Home Vs. Steelhawks
June 10, 2015 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Alabama Hammers News Release
The Alabama Hammers return to the confines of its home turf of the Huntsville Hospital/TOC Sports Field in the arena of the Von Braun Center this Saturday, June 13, with a battle against the visiting Steelhawks of Lehigh Valley. Kickoff is 7:00 p.m.
Game 11 of the 2015 Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) pits the Hammers (3-7) against the Steelhawks (6-4) with the Hammers having a score to settle since coming out on the short end of a 50-31 score against the Steelhawks in a game played on May 17th. The matchup will feature the PIFL's No. 1 passing offense of the Hammers (280-yards per game) against the league's No. 1 scoring defense (42-points per game), which Lehigh Valley possess. Alabama continues to have a much ballyhooed offense placing second in the PIFL in total offense, sixth in scoring (45-pts/pg) while ranked seventh in scoring defense (55-pts/pg).
With the Hammers top rated aerial attack and the Steelhawks having the ninth best pass defense in the league, the game should be an all-out battle.
The game is also a huge promotional evening for the Hammers, after being on the road the past month, as Huntsville Hospital Sports Center and TOC Sports present Jersey Night with the first 1,000 youth, age 14 and under, receiving a Hammers jersey complete with the No. 19 on the front to recognize WHNT-TV Channel 19 being the game's media sponsor. There will be three sizes to choose from: M, L, XL.
The night is also the Hammers' Community Appreciation Night with FREE ticket vouchers available at the following locations in the area: Alabama A&M, Calhoun Community College, Complete Cash, Huntsville Hospital, Knight Agency of Madison, The Orthopaedic Center and Vibe Chiropractic.
The game can be heard on the Hammers Radio Network including WAFN-FM, 92.7 Fun Radio-Arab, WZZN-FM, 97.7 The Zone-Huntsville and WWIC-AM, 1050-Scottsboro. Michael St. John and Steve Moulton will call the action.
