Alabama Hammers News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Alabama Hammers list of receivers just keeps getting better and better.

Former Tennessee receiver Quintin Hancock and ex-Southern Cal and Viper star Christopher Bocage have signed contracts to play for the Hammers in the upcoming 2011 Southern Indoor Football League season.

"Hancock is a proven SEC-caliber athlete and has NFL experience,'' Hammers coach Marty Hammond said. "Bocage took a year off to recharge his batteries after looking great for the Vipers in 2009. Both these guys will be important building blocks for the team."

Hancock (6-foot-2, 211 pounds) signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks after catching 27 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns as a senior at Tennessee in 2009. He was voted most improved player that season and finished his career with 45 receptions for 492 yards and five touchdowns.

Bocage (5-10, 185) was a member of back-to-back USC national championship teams in 2003 and 2004. In 2008 he made is arenafootball2 debut with Albany, catching 68 passes for 827 yards and 14 touchdowns with 42 returns for 926 and two scores.

A late-season injury limited Bocage to playing in 11 games for the Vipers in 2009, but he still finished with 81 catches for 701 yards with 14 touchdowns and 534 return yards with two scores.

Alabama opens training camp March 3 before hosting Columbus March 19 at the Von Braun Center's Propst Arena. For single-game and season ticket information visit www.alabamahammers.com or call 256-551-2222.
