Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC will host the Chicago Fire Reserves on Saturday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Legion Stadium as they jump back into their USL PRO regular season following their friendly match against their Major League Soccer affiliate Toronto FC on Wednesday.

The Hammerheads are entering Saturday's match unbeaten for seven consecutive regular season games. The team fell 2-1 to Toronto earlier in the week, however the exhibition match does not affect regular season statistics.

"We need to keep this successful run going," said Wilmington Hammerheads FC Head Coach David Irving. "Our next three home games are crucial before we begin heavy amounts of travel and road matches."

Wilmington finished against the Richmond Kickers last Saturday in a dramatic 2-2 equalizer in the final 10 minutes of the match. Forwards Jordan Hamilton and Mickael Oliveira tallied one goal each within minutes of one another to take home the draw.

During Saturday's match versus Chicago, the Hammerheads will be recognizing several former players and staff for "˜Alumni Night'. Wilmington's first responders will also be present at the game as they help to raise funds for The Wilmington Firefighters Memorial located at Station #2 near Empie Park.

Tickets will also be available at The Husk in downtown Wilmington on game day.

The Hammerheads' next match is scheduled for Saturday, June 28 as they host the Kickers at Legion Stadium for the second of their three-game series this season.
