Hammerheads Announce Addition of Michael Soboff

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC announce the addition of defender Michael Soboff for the remainder of their 20th anniversary season.
In 2010, Soboff played for the Armenian U-19 National team, where he was quickly signed with FC Pyunik, an Armenian team located in Yerevan, for the remainder of the season. Soboff moved on to play at Brandeis University from 2013-2015.
During his career at Brandeis, Soboff received several significant achievements including being named National Player of the Week in September of 2014, NSCAA All New-England Region, along with UAA Athlete of the Week three times in 2014, and UAA All Conference Team in 2013. In two campaigns with Brandeis, Soboff scored 13 goals and had 12 assists in 39 games. Nine of his 13 goals were game-winners, including 2015's NCAA tournament opener, a 3-0 win against Husson University.
After graduating from Brandeis in 2015, Soboff signed a contract to play with Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan FC of the Israeli Liga Alef South Division. Since his graduation, Soboff is Brandeis's first professional men's soccer player since inaugural Hall of Famer Cleveland Lewis '78 played for Memphis in the North American Soccer League (NASL).
Now joining the Hammerheads, Soboff stated, "I couldn't be more excited about signing with the Hammerheads as they have an outstanding coaching staff in an unbelievable city. The team is off to a good start and I'm excited to contribute in any way I can."
Head coach Mark Briggs added, "Michael comes to us with a great deal of experience and passion for the game. We are looking forward to his addition as a defender, and hope he can continue to help us earn points."
