Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (November 29, 2010) - Stampede GM and Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski is not only signing players, he is also searching to complete his coaching staff. Ron Kerr is the next addition to the Stampede organization. Nowotarski said, "Just like Steve [Gaunt], Ron is a football guy. He has extensive experience in the minor league ranks with the locally known Central Penn Piranha, where he has compiled quite a resume of players, wins, and awards, including an induction into the Minor League Hall of Fame."

Kerr also brings experience in the indoor game from a previous stint with the Stampede and a season with the Lehigh Valley Outlawz, formerly of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). This time with the Stampede, Ron will be taking over the trenches as Offensive and Defense Line Coach.

In 2009 Kerr was inducted into the Minor League Football Hall of Fame for his coaching efforts with the Piranha.

"It's just so critical to have a coach that understands the line play and with Ron we have that," noted Nowotarski.

Ron is a graduate of Penn State University's Sheriff's Academy in State College and is a Deputy Sheriff with the Cumberland County Sheriff's office. He currently resides in Carlisle with his wife Michelle and his daughter Alexus.

"Ron is an excellent addition to our staff both on and off the field. He has outstanding leadership qualities and I expect nothing but great things from Ron," commented Nowotarski.
