Halifax Comes back Strong for the Win

The Moncton Magic traveled to Halifax Thursday night to play the Hurricanes in game one of the Atlantic Division Finals. The Winner of this series will go on to play the Central champions, a distinction the London Lightening and St John's Edge are currently in contention for.
Moncton initiated things by showing some offensive prowess in the 1st quarter, with Terry Thomas and Corey Allmond drawing a 35-17 lead out of those minutes. Halifax responded in the 2nd with a push of their own, going +8 and narrowing the lead to 10. The remainder of the contest was chock-full of impressive exchanges and streaks by both sides; the first tie occurring with seven left in the 4th.
At the final buzzer in this game of runs, Halifax had the last word, and bested Moncton 107-97. Announcers credited both teams for their enormous efforts, citing the Magic's extremely tough series against Saint John, which may have had some residual effects on their late-game stamina.
Terry Thomas topped the box in scoring throughout, hitting 20 well before half, and finishing with 36 points, along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
Usual suspects Juan Pattillo and Corey Allmond followed, dropping 21 and 19 respectively.
After an unimpressive start, Halifax saw six of their players enter double-digits. The Hurricanes were led by Antoine Mason, son of the late-great Anthony Mason, who finished with 9 rebounds and 33 points. Well behind but pushing were Ta'Quan Zimmerman and Mike pool with 18 and 15.
The Magic will remain in Halifax for a second chance to take the home team Saturday the 21st, after which they will return to Moncton to host the Hurricanes Tuesday the 24th and Thursday the 26th.
