Maywood Buzz News Release
MAYWOOD, CA (MAY 8TH, 2007) - It has just been confirmed that the GymRats - Japan are coming to Maywood, California to play in the 2007 ABA Summer Pro League, that will be hosted by the Maywood Buzz.
"This is pretty big for us having a team coming from Japan to represent in our ABA Summer Pro League" stated Buzz GM Burrel Lee III. "I have had the chance to meet a few of their players that have already played in the ABA the past two season with the San Jose Sky Rockets and the Sacramento Heatwave. This will just take the level of play to a higher stage", added Lee.
The Maywood Buzz will have two teams (Buzz Black & Buzz Gold) with hopefuls from prior tryouts, there will also be four free agent teams from players who have signed up for the ABA Summer Pro League Try-Out Camp that takes place August 1st-3rd, 2007. We are hoping to fill the league up with 8 teams, but we will be happy to take more. Also in talks with a local Philippines team, that will be traveling to the Philippines to play in a tournament there. So the ABA Summer Pro League will be an exciting place to view basketball for two weeks in August.
The ABA Summer Pro League will be hosted by the Maywood Buzz, August 4th-18th, 2007, with all games being played at the MAC (the Maywood Activity Center). The ABA Summer Pro League will be a place where free agents can get looked at by ABA teams under ABA Rules. This should be an exciting summer for the ABA and the Maywood Buzz.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
