Atlanta Vision News Release

On January 17,2005 the ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies are planning to play on Martin Luther King Jr. Federal National Holiday at the Arena at Gwinnnett Center. Officials from the Arena have approved of the Gwizzlies ballgame and the franchise is waiting for the ABA League schedules for 2004-05 to come out in July with the ballgame at the Arena on it's schedule.

Gwizzlies officials think this is huge for the franchise in it's effort to play all it's regular season ballgames at the Arena in 2005-06. Right now, all 2004-05 Gwizzlies home ballgames are scheluded to be played at Life University Arena.

The Arena at Gwinnett Center holds 12,500 for basketball and is one the premier venues in the Southeast. Gwizzlies officials are working with advisory board member Martin Luther King III to see if the Gwizzlies King Day ballgame can be added to the King Center schelude of events for King Week. A local celebrity will be invited to perform at half-time.

Once everything is finalized tickets for the Gwizzlies King Day ballgame will go sale at Ticketmaster, the official ticket sales outlet for the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
