San Diego Gulls News Release
San Diego scored three unanswered goals in a 3-2 overtime victory over the San Jose Barracuda at SAP Center to win their fifth consecutive game. The five consecutive wins tie a season high (also Dec. 9-23) and are tied for the third longest win streak in club history. Trailing 2-0 after two periods, San Diego scored two third-period goals 1:27 apart to force overtime before Dennis Rasmussen's game-winning goal sealed the 12th comeback win of the season. San Diego killed all four San Jose power plays, and have now killed 15 straight penalties and 25 of the last 26 (96.2%) opposition power plays the last eight games.
Kevin Roy scored his ninth goal of the year at 3:08 of the third period to open the scoring for San Diego.
Eric Fehr scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season at 4:35 of the third period to tie the game at 2-2. Keaton Thompson recorded an assist on the goal, his sixth of the season.
Sam Carrick recorded assists on the first two San Diego goals for his third multi-assist game of the season. Carrick earned his 100th career AHL assist with the lone helper on Kevin Roy's opener and now has a three-game point streak (1-3=4).
Dennis Rasmussen scored the game-winning goal 2:41 into overtime (unassisted), his third goal of the season and second career overtime goal (also Dec. 2, 2015 at Texas w/ Rockford).
Kevin Boyle won his fourth consecutive game after stopping 37-of-39 shots. Boyle is 9-2-0 with a 2.05 goals-against average and .939 save percentage in his last 11 appearances.

On the game
I thought we didn't [have] a really good game. I thought we gave away a little bit too much, and I think they gave away a lot of pucks too. There was not a lot of chances during the whole game but it was a nice comeback to score two goals in the third and then win in overtime, so it feels good.
On the slow start
We didn't play as good as we can. As I said we gave away pucks and we lost a lot of battles that we should have won.
On Kevin Boyle
He was really good. Without him we could have been down more goals in the second period. He really gave us a chance to win so he did a great job today.
On his overtime goal
They had a 2-on-1 at first I think, and I kind of touched the puck a little bit so it bobbled and I got it behind the net and just tried to skate it as hard as I could. I thought we had a 3-on-1 and then Andy (Welinski) yelled for me to shoot it so that's what I did.
Head Coach Dallas Eakins
On what was said to the team before the third period
I just thought it was an emotionless game and not just by our team, but by theirs as well. There is nobody in the stands and there wasn't a lot of action out there. It was very simple. It was asking ourselves are we were involved in the game at critical moments and how could we be our best. I thought we played much better in the third.
On Kevin Boyle
Unbelievable. We were killing that 4-on-3 penalty in overtime but Kevin was excellent throughout the game. He was maybe the only player on both teams that was fully in, and with emotion and very focused for all 63 minutes of the game.
On Dennis Rasmussen
Rasmussen finished that one great. He had a couple of chances earlier in the game, almost from exactly the same spot and he has just missed the net. This one he bore down and got it in the net there. He has worked extremely hard for us and it's great to get it for the team, but great for him to score for himself.
