SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has named Andy Roeser Interim President of Business Operations. The announcement was made in conjunction with the National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes' hiring of Ari Segal as Chief Operating Officer. Roeser, former President of the Los Angeles Clippers, will remain with the Gulls until a permanent replacement is selected.

"On behalf of the Samueli family, Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls, I would like to thank Ari for his contributions and wish him the very best as he advances into a top executive role in the National Hockey League," said Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls CEO Michael Schulman. "At the same time, we are very fortunate to have someone with the experience and knowledge of Andy Roeser to step in immediately. He will be a valuable asset as we continue to build on the success of our first season in San Diego."

Roeser previously spent 30 years with the Clippers, joining the organization in 1984 as the club's CFO before being promoted to Executive Vice President and eventually Team President in 2007. In addition to running the team's business operations, Roeser also served as the Alternate Governor on the NBA's Board of Governors and President of the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation. Roeser guided the transformation of the Clippers into an elite NBA team as they set attendance records, reaching sellouts in more than 150 consecutive games.

Segal was hired as the President of Business Operations of the Gulls on January 29, 2015, following the purchase and relocation of the AHL club to San Diego. Segal led the organization to numerous business achievements, including the AHL's second-highest average attendance in 2015-16 (8,675).
