FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Tuesday, June 16, 2015) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced that interim Head Coach Iván Guerrero will coach the team in Saturday's international friendly against Ponte Preta in Campinas, São Paulo. The club also announced that goalkeeper Josh Ford's loan from Major League Soccer's Orlando City S.C. has been extended for the match.

On Sunday, June 7, veteran Strikers' defender Guerrero, 37, was appointed interim coach of the club for the final match of the Spring Season. Fort Lauderdale came from behind on the road to defeat Minnesota United FC by a score of 3-2 Saturday.

Ford, who was making his second consecutive start for Fort Lauderdale, tallied seven saves against Minnesota. With goalkeepers David Meves and Joe Nasco still recovering from a fractured jaw and fractured foot, respectively, Ford's loan with the Strikers has been extended.

The international friendly against Ponte Preta is set for Saturday, June 20, at Estádio Moisés Lucarelli in Campinas, São Paulo at 5:30 p.m. EDT (6:30 p.m. local time in Campinas). Founded in 1900, Ponte Preta is one of the oldest teams in Brazil. The club is currently fifth in the Brazilian Serie A.

Fort Lauderdale host Argentine powerhouse Boca Juniors at Lockhart Stadium in the inaugural Challenge Cup on July 1 at 8:00 p.m. EDT. Tickets are available from $29 at Strikers.com.
