Guard Signs General Manager and Head Coach

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Fayetteville Guard Indoor Professional football organization announced the signing of their new General Manager, Robert Heath and their new Head Coach and Director of Football Operations, Charles Gunnings. These signings follow the announcement that the Fayetteville Guard will remain a part of the NIFL football league through the 2007 season.

Heath was the former Operations Sergeant Major for the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg and is the current owner of ProGraphix Sports Marketing Company here in Fayetteville. "I look forward to the challenge of assembling a talented all-star staff," said Heath, "to build a strong bond between the Guard and our local community, and bring the NIFL championship to Fayetteville.

Gunnings who is a former player for the Cape Fear Wildcats and the Defensive Coach for the Fayetteville Guard is looking forward to his new role as Head Coach. When asked what some of his goals were for this upcoming year he said, " to work hard, practice hard, instill good work ethics on and off the field, win the game by any means necessary, and bring home a Championship to Fayetteville." Heath's comments on the signing of Gunnings were, "I am exceptionally pleased that Charles is part of this organization. He brings tons of experience, talent and an unbelievable work ethic, which is the corner stone to success.

Owner Richard King comments on the future of the Guard, "Bringing these two men into the Fayetteville Guard organization not only greatly benefits the team but the Fayetteville community. Both men want this team to succeed and build a lifelong relationship with the city of Fayetteville and the surrounding towns." Co-owner Stevie Ammons added, "The signings of these two individuals continues to prove that the Guard is moving in a positive direction and is taking every step needed to do so. I have great respect for both men, not only for their football contributions, but for their great contribution to our community."

The schedule for the upcoming 2007 Fayetteville Guard football season will be posted by the end of November; however, season tickets are currently on sale.
