Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The River Bandits take pride in offering the people of the Quad Cities an affordable source of family entertainment that features a variety of activities for fans of all ages. Perhaps no option is more popular than taking in a ballgame with a group of friends, family or co-workers while enjoying a delicious picnic at Modern Woodmen Park.

Group and picnic packages for the 2009 season are now available, giving fans the opportunity to reserve their group or picnic outing and enjoy an evening of fun with friends, family, coworkers or clients.

"Nothing says summertime more than baseball, sunshine and barbeque picnics," said team owner Dave Heller. "We've brought in a new concessionaire to improve our food operation, and a big reason we did that was to improve the quality of our picnic options. Fans will be served better food with more options, bigger portions, better service and better value. They're going to love the food!"

Picnic outings are available in three different locations within Modern Woodmen Park. The Sky Deck, located on the Suite Level along the third base side, will feature an upscale menu with a carving table and elegant cuisine for groups of 50-200 looking for a truly impressive experience. The Jumers Casino and Hotel Hot Tub Deck can host 10-40 people and comes with a special picnic package of its own as well as the unique opportunity to watch the game from the comfort and luxury of a custom-built QCA Spas hot tub.

The biggest and most popular picnic area is the Party Plaza, which can serve up to 500 people on field level along the right field line. Fans can enjoy a menu of ballpark favorites and dine from one of the best seats in the house. The Sky Deck and Party Plaza are available with tickets in any seating section - a new option in 2009 - while all three areas are perfect for employee outings, client hospitality or just a night out at the ballpark with friends and family.

Group outings provide an affordable way to enjoy a ballgame without the picnic menu. Ticket prices for group outings were either lowered or maintained across the board, giving River Bandits fans the chance to save some extra cash by visiting Modern Woodmen Park with a group of 25 or more.

"Group and picnic packages provide businesses, social groups, families and friends a great way to boost morale and bond in a fun, laid-back atmosphere," said Vice President and General Manager Kirk Goodman. "With more and more people choosing to spend their vacations and time off close to home, our group and picnic outings offer fans an opportunity to have fun and enjoy a great value without spending a lot of money."

UP NEXT: The River Bandits will kick off the 2009 season early on Sunday, April 5, hosting the Double-A Springfield Cardinals for a 2:00 p.m. exhibition game at Modern Woodmen Park. The regular season home-opener will take place on April 13 against the Beloit Snappers. Tickets for the 2009 regular season as well as the exhibition game are available by calling (563) 3-BANDIT, going to www.RiverBandits.com or stopping by the Modern Woodmen Park box office.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: Under new ownership and management in 2008, the Quad Cities River Bandits topped 207,000 fans for only the sixth time in team history and the first time in 12 years. With a renewed dedication to fans, sponsors and the Quad Cities community, the return of the River Bandits has brought a resurgence of support for the team.
