
Grizzlies Fall to Rascals in Preseason Game; Guthrie Continues to Hit

O'FALLON, MO - River City scored four runs in the sixth inning and held on for a 7-6 win against the Gateway Grizzlies Friday afternoon at T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
The Rascals took a 6-2 lead in the sixth inning, breaking a 2-2 tie. River City scored all four runs off relief pitcher Phillip Reamy.
Gateway rallied for three runs in the ninth inning. Trey Holmes drove in a run on a double and Alex Guthrie brought in two runs on a single.
Guthrie and Holmes led the Grizzlies offense, recording three hits each. Jose Flores collected a multi-hit game and walked twice.
Will Casey got the start for the Grizzlies and fired two scoreless innings. Brett Kennedy and Richard Barrett each worked a scoreless inning of relief.
Gateway concludes preseason play on Saturday when they take on River City at GCS Ballpark. First pitch is set for 12:05 P.M. The game will be heard on 590 AM KFNS and by clicking the listen live tab at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com.
