Grimes Re-Signs with Stealth

October 30, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Vancouver Stealth News Release

(Vancouver, BC - Wednesday, October 30, 2013) - The Vancouver Stealth have announced another re-signing as Mike Grimes inks a one year deal. Grimes is coming off a solid 2013 campaign where he was named to the second NLL All-Pro team as a defensemen. It was the first All-Pro award of Grimes' career.

Grimes is entering his 6th season with the Stealth and 8th season of his NLL career. The big 6'3 defensemen continues to be a dominant force in the defensive end and the Stealth are hoping that style of play remains the same for the 2014 season.

Grimes has appeared in 97 regular season games in the NLL, collecting 86 points (36g, 50a) and 528 loose balls. He has also tallied 12 points (2g, 10a) and 67 loose balls in 11 postseason games. Grimes is a proven winner as well helping the Stealth to a 2010 Champions Cup Title and two Champions Cup Finals appearances in the last three years. He even led his team to the 2011 Mann Cup Finals as a member of the Langley Thunder in the Western Lacrosse Association.

The newly re-signed Grimes will now look to training camp at the end of November as he prepares for the 2014 season with the Stealth. The Stealth's 2014 season begins on January 4th against the Colorado Mammoth and then the following week on January 11th they host the Minnesota Swarm in their home opener at the Langley Events Centre.
