Lexington, KY- Recent Racer draftee Griffin Joiner (Kentucky) has been named a 2015 Senior CLASS Award First-Team All-American. Joiner is one of five players nationally to be honored.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the CLASS award recognizes student-athletes who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Joiner has dedicated countless hours to the service of the community, especially with the Ronald McDonald House and Salvation Army. Her hard work on and off the field did not go unnoticed by her teammates, coaches and instructors.

Joiner was selected by the Racers with the 19th pick in the 2015 NPF Draft. Joiner ended her career at Kentucky having started all 245 games she played in and batted .303 with 42 doubles, 35 home runs and 143 RBI during her tenure with the Wildcats.

" I was excited to learn of Griffin's recent honor. To be named as one of the 2015 Senior CLASS Award First-Team All-Americans is amazing," commented Joey Arrietta, Racers GM. "Our program in Akron has always valued the involvement of players in community projects. Griffin exemplifies the tradition of our organization of giving back and working to improve the lives of our neighbors."
