Grieb Named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week

SAN JOSE, CA - The SaberCats are pleased to announce QB Mark Grieb has been named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 18 against the Jacksonville Sharks.

Grieb (6-2, 200) threw for 401 yards on 32-of-48 (66.7%) passing for a season-high nine touchdown passes to go along with a rushing score in the SaberCats sixth win of the season. His 401 yards marked the fourth largest total in franchise history. Grieb also surpassed 4,000 yards and 70 touchdown passes for the year, marking the sixth and eighth consecutive seasons he's reached those marks, respectively, with both standing as AFL records.

The award marks Grieb's second Offensive Player of the Week award, with his last coming in Week 5 following a victory over the Utah Blaze, 75-55.
