Grieb continues quest for passing record

NEW YORK – In his eight seasons in the AFL, San Jose QB MARK GRIEB (6-3, 208, UC Davis) has never been known as a high-yardage passer. Grieb, one of the most accurate quarterbacks in football, has thrown for over 4,000 yards only once in his career. This season however, Greib leads the League in passing yards (3,997) and is on pace to break the single-season passing record set by Georgia QB JIM KUBIAK (4,762) in 2003 while with Dallas.

Grieb is currently 765 yards shy of the record and needs to average 255 yards per game in his final three matchups to tie Kubiak. Through 13 games this season, the former Aggie has averaged 307.5 yards per game and leads the League in completion percentage (70.1) and quarterback rating (128.3). The defending ArenaBowl Champion SaberCats (8-5) host the Los Angeles Avengers (8-5) in a battle for first place in the Western Division this Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET on FSN Bay Area and FSN West.
