
Greenville Face Rome in Double Header

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive and the Rome Braves faced off in a double header on Saturday due to inclement weather on Friday. Rome took the first game 5-0, while the Drive won the second 4-2 thanks to a walk-off home run from Tyler McDonough.
In the first game, Rome put the first few runs on the board thanks to a three-run homer by Vaughn Grissom.
The Braves struck again in the fourth with another home run, this one hit by Javier Valdes giving Rome a four run lead.
A final run was tacked on by the Braves at the top of the seventh when Drew Campbell hit an RBI single bringing Grissom home.
Rome took the first game 5-0.
The second game of the night started slow until Brandon Howlett got the bats rolling with a single and was brought home off the bat of Nick Yorke.
The Braves answered with a Drew Campbell double that brought base runner Justyn-Henry Malloy home.
In the fifth inning, Rome took the lead thanks to a Brian Klein RBI double.
The Drive struck back when Yorke singled on a sharp ground ball to bring Howlett home.
The game was tied heading into the bottom of the last inning. Then Tyler McDonough became the hero for the night when he knocked one out with a guy on base, winning the game 4-2.
The Drive will finish the series tomorrow at 6:05.
