
GreenJackets, Giants Renew PDC Through 2012

Augusta, GA - The AugustaThe Augusta GreenJackets today announced they have renewed their player development contract with the San Francisco Giants. The new deal will keep Augusta as a Giants' affiliate through the 2012 season.
This season, the GreenJackets recorded the best overall record in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division with a 79-59 record. The last six years the GreenJackets have won more than any other stretch in Augusta baseball history. The GreenJackets had the best record in the South Atlantic League from the 2006-2008, with playoff appearances all three years including the 2008 SAL Championship. Although the GreenJackets did not make it to the playoffs this season due to the SAL's playoff structure, they again held a leading record in the Southern Division.
Since the GreenJackets and Giants affiliation began in 2005, 15 players have reached the major leagues including current Giants Brian Wilson, Pablo Sandoval, Madison Bumgarner and Dan Runzler.
