Green Scores But Gladiators Lose to San Diego 123-100
January 6, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Orange County Gladiators News Release
The stage was set as crews from several local TV news shows as well as various print media and a lively crowd were all in the house to watch a Gladiator victory led in part by the third female to ever play in the ABA. Well the media and fans got part of what they were looking for as Kristen Green was able to contribute a nice 18 foot jumper as well as grab a rebound in the paint but it did not help as the Gladiators lost to the #1 ranked San Diego Wildcats by a score of 123-100.
The Gladiators were down by 10 going into the forth quarter as they looked liked they were hanging just close enough to make a run. However, the San Diego Wildcats showed why they are the #1 ranked team in the league by scoring 41 points and taking the victory.
The Wildcats were led by Cardell Butler with 38 points and the rugged inside play of Jamal Kendrick how contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds. Tony Farmer and Larry Williams each scored 20 points for the Gladiators as they dropped their second game in a row to bring their record to 8-9.
The Gladiators next play on the road against the Maywood Buzz on Saturday January 12th at 7PM.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
