Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release


The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks have re-signed Steve Green, a 6'2", 190-lb outfielder who is no stranger to the Mountain Ducks. He came to the Ducks in 2002, batting left and throwing right. Within the 38 games he played, he had eight doubles, two triples and one home run, with a RBI of 19. When he first started playing baseball professionally, he was selected by the Cardinals in 40th round of 2001 draft. After being released in 2002, he was immediately signed by the Springfield Mountain Ozark Ducks on July 2002

Vasquez Signed by Ducks

The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks have signed Tim Vasquez. Vasquez, the 6'1", 200 lb. 27-year-old Arizona native, was the number five pick amongst the 4 players drafted in San Antonio. He had split the 2002 season between San Angelo and Alexandria. He finished last season 1-0 with Alexandria and finished two games for each team. Within his two years of professional baseball, Vasquez has a 3-1 record, an ERA of 5.25 and 31 games played.

Around the CBL

The Coastal Bend Aviators announced that they have filled their final veteran spot with the signing of first baseman Juan Querecuto. He will team with Mel Hall, Mike Smith and Cris Colon as the four allotted veterans.

The Aviators have now completed their spring training roster. Thirteen pitchers and fifteen position players make up the 28-man roster. Two local players will join the Aviators when they open up camp. They will be catcher Chris Donahue and pitcher Ray Chapa, both of Corpus Christi.
