Green Bay Tenders Katzin

March 1, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release

The Green Bay Gamblers have signed Lev Katzin to a tender agreement for the 2023-24 season.

Katzin has played for Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA and St. Andrew's College this year. A native of Thornhill, Ont., Katzin is a highly-skilled centerman, with dynamic speed and elite hockey sense. In 64 GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League) games this season with the Marlies, Katzin has 42 goals, 78 assists and 120 points.

"We are proud to welcome Lev to the Green Bay Gamblers organization," said head coach and general manager Michael Leone. "He is a winning hockey player and person, with the skill and character to make an immediate and positive impact on our team and the league. Our staff put in the work to make this happen, and we can't wait to have him join our group next season."

The USHL tender process allows teams to sign up to two 2007 birth year players in exchange for their first and second-round picks in the 2023 USHL Phase I Draft, which will take place May 2, 2023.

As a result of signing Katzin, the Gamblers will surrender their first round pick in Phase I of the USHL Draft this upcoming spring.

The final day for USHL teams to sign a tender is April 29, 2023. Each tendered player will be on their respective team's roster the next season and play at least 55% of the team's regular season games.

Katzin becomes the fifth tender in team history and the first since 2013.
