Many fans may not be aware that hockey actually was developed as an outdoor sport. To that end the Mississippi Surge in conjunction with the Mississippi Wildlife and Forestry Commission will hold the second annual Great Outdoors Night presented in conjunction with Adventure Locators.
Great Outdoors Night takes place this Saturday, November 3rd, when the Surge hosts the in-state rival Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Smokey Bear will be on hand and various vendors will have information regarding numerous outdoor activities along the Gulf Coast. For example Adventure Locators will have information about scuba lessons, kayaking, skydiving and more.
Saturday's Great Outdoors night will be the second game of the weekend for the Surge. On Friday the team will visit the Pensacola Ice Flyers. The team is sponsoring a fan bus trip to the game. Cost for the trip is $36 which includes round trip transportation from the Coliseum to Pensacola and a ticket to the game.
Fans who can't make the bus trip can watch Friday's game (and all Surge games) at Mugshots.
Season tickets for the 2012-13 Surge season are on sale now. The team is also has a new line of exciting merchandise available. This season the Surge is also offering a $10 walk up ticket for kids 3-12. For more information call 228-594-3800 or log onto www.mssurge.com.
