Grand Rapids Completes Trade with College Park

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan - The Grand Rapids Drive, the Official NBA G League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, has completed a trade with the College Park Skyhawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.

Grand Rapids has traded its own 2019 2nd round draft pick (47TH overall) and the returning player rights to Johnny Hamilton to the College Park Skyhawks in exchange for the returning player rights to Craig Sword.

Sword has spent the previous two seasons with the Erie BayHawks appearing in 98 games (40 starts) while averaging 8.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 23.8 minutes per game. The 6-foot-3, 196-pound guard had a four-year collegiate career (2012-16) with Mississippi State appearing in 123 games (114 starts), averaging 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27.3 minutes per game. The Montgomery, Alabama native received SEC All-Freshman of the Week twice (2013), Second Team All-SEC (2015) and places ninth on the Bulldogs career leaderboard with 144 steals.

The Drive are quickly approaching the franchise's sixth season in Grand Rapids as they look to defend their Central Division title. Grand Raids begins their 2019-20 campaign with a three-game road stretch starting November 8th before returning home to host the Greensboro Swarm for a Friday-Saturday double header on Nov. 15th and 16th at the DeltaPlex Arena.
