Goaltender Ford Recalled To AHL

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that goaltender Todd Ford has been recalled to the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Ford, 25, went 18-7-2 with the Stingrays this season and ranked fifth in the ECHL with a 2.79 goals-against average and second with a .910 save percentage. The Calgary, AB native was selected as the 2010 ECHL Goaltender of the Year and received First Team All-ECHL honors. Voted the starting goaltender for the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game, Ford stopped seven of nine shots in the first period.

Named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December, Ford went 9-2-0 with a goals-against average of 2.18 and a .935 save percentage. He helped the Stingrays to an 11-2-0-0 record and started in ten consecutive games from December 6 through the 27. Ford allowed two goals or less in seven of his eleven starts including a 4-0 shutout on December 13 at Charlotte.

Ford appeared in 15 games in the American Hockey League this season with Texas and Portland, going 7-5-1 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .920.
