Goalie Galloway Named MLL Defensive Player of Week

(Rochester, NY) - John Galloway has been named Major League Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. The Rochester Rattlers swept their home-and-home weekend series with the Long Island Lizards. They have a 5-4 record, and they moved to within two games of first place Chesapeake. The Rattlers are in a tie with the Long Island Lizards for the fourth and final playoff spot.

Galloway made 33 saves while allowing 21 goals in the Rattlers two victories. In the Rattlers' 13-8 victory over the Lizards on Friday night, he made a career-high 21 saves, including nine in the third quarter, as the Rattlers snapped Long Island's five-game win streak. Galloway, who earned *Bud Light* MLL Player of the Game honors for the second time in his career on Friday night, helped Rochester post a 17-15 win at Shuart Stadium on Saturday night by making 12 saves. Galloway, who has played in eight games for the Rattlers this season, ranks fifth in the MLL with a 13.56 goals against average while stopping 52.2 per cent of the shots he has faced. He is also tied for fourth in the MLL with 108 saves.
