(Schaumburg, IL). Glenview, IL resident Adriano Pedrelli leads an ownership group that is purchasing the Schaumburg Flyers from long-time owner Rich Ehrenreich of Deerfield, IL. Ehrenreich founded the Flyers in 1998, and currently co-owns the Lake County Fielders baseball club in Zion, IL with actor Kevin Costner.
"When it comes to professional sports teams, 'owners' are really just caretakers of the team for the community.. I'll miss running the Flyers, but I'm leaving the organization in great hands with Adriano, and I know he'll do wonderful things in Schaumburg."
Pedrelli, a lifelong entrepreneur, will serve as the team's new CEO. "I've always wanted to be involved with a sports team. I'm very excited about this organization and think it has a lot of potential. It's such a big part of the community's identity."
The change of ownership in the Flyers is expected to take place early next month.
The Schaumburg Flyers are members of the Northern League, with additional teams in Joliet, IL, Rockford, IL, Zion, IL, Gary, IN. Kansas City, KS, Fargo, ND, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA.
