
Glenn Hubbard to Appear at Annual Celebrity Shootout Golf Tournament November 13th

Rome, GA - Former Atlanta Braves second baseman Glenn Hubbard is slated to appear at the Seventh Annual Rome Braves & Floyd County Police Department Celebrity Shootout Golf Tournament on Friday, November 13th at Stone Bridge Golf Club. "We are excited to have Glenn with us for this event," says Rome General Manager Michael Dunn. "He is a lifelong Brave and a lifelong friend."
Hubbard spent twelve years as a major league player, 1978-1987 with Atlanta and 1988-1989 with Oakland. He was also an All Star in 1983 and served nine seasons as coach in the Braves minor league system. From 1999 - 2010, Hubbard was part of the coaching staff of the Atlanta Braves and most recently a member of the World Champion Kansas City Royals organization. The proceeds from this year's event will benefit Summit Quest Cancer Support Services. Since 2007, Summit Quest has been dedicated to providing support services and meeting the needs of those affected by cancer through various means: Circle at the Summit (a youth focused support group for children ages 6-17 who are facing cancer directly or who have a parent or loved one affected by the disease), Outdoor Adventure Trips, Youth Cycling Programs, and Team Tiger Flight. This annual golf tournament has donated a total of over $50,000 to local and National charities.
