
Gladiators to Open Training Camp Tomorrow

CLEVELAND, OH - The Arena Football League's Cleveland Gladiators, presented by Unique Home Solutions, will officially begin the 2017 season when they open their 9th training camp this Thursday, March 16th. Players will report to camp Thursday at the team's practice and training facility, Lost Nation Sports Park West in Lorain where they will hold official meetings and physicals. The team will hit the field for the first time on Friday, March 17th. All training camp practices will once again be open to the public.
Additionally, the Gladiators announced that the teams' annual Media Day event will take place on Tuesday, March 21st at Lost Nation Sports Park West from 12:15 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Head coach Ron Selesky and the rest of the coaching staff and players will be made available to media at the conclusion of the team's practice.
SINGLE GAME TICKETS ARE ON SALE TODAY, MARCH 15TH AT NOON : Starting at just $9 per seat, fans can purchase 2017 Gladiators individual game tickets for all seven regular season home games (April 8th, April 15th, April 28th, May 5th, June 16th, June 24th, July 8th) by visiting ClevelandGladiators.com, charge-by-phone at 216-420-2222, in person at the Quicken Loans Arena box office, or in person at any one of Discount Drug Mart's 58 Northern Ohio locations.
The Gladiators' 2017 training camp roster features the return of quarterback and Cleveland native (Glenville H.S.) Arvell Nelson (70 passing TD's, 11 rushing TD's in 2016) and wide receivers Collin Taylor (2016 All-Arena first team; 32 receiving TD's) and Quentin Sims (27 receiving TD's in 2016) as well as offensive lineman Joe Madsen (Chardon HS; 2016 All-Arena first team). The roster also features many new and exciting players including defensive back and Euclid, Ohio native Rayshaun Kizer (66 career interceptions), reigning AFL Playmaker of the Year Brandon Thompkins (38 receiving TD's in 2016), as well as the return of defensive lineman Willie McGinnis (26 career sacks).
Training camp runs through March 31st, when the season-opening roster will be determined. Throughout training camp, each day's on-field practice session will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. (subject to change).
The Gladiators begin the 2017 season with their home opener at The Q on Saturday, April 8th at 7:00 p.m. against the Tampa Bay Storm.
