Gladiators Split Season-Series with Dragons, Fall 56-39

Uniondale, NY - The Cleveland Gladiators offense could not get going on Saturday night, as they fell to the New York Dragons, 56-39 in front of 9,991 fans at Nassau Coliseum. Cleveland (4-4) slips back to .500 for the second time this season, while the Dragons (5-4) head into their bye week.

QB RAYMOND PHILYAW, riding three-straight 300+ yard passing performances, never found a rhythm, completing just 19-of-34 passes for 179 yards and four touchdowns. Eight of his 19 completions went to WR ROBERT REDD, who finished with 101 yards and two scores.

Reigning Arena Football League Offensive Player of the Week WR OTIS AMEY was limited to just four catches for 38 yards and a score. TE KIMANI JONES caught his first touchdown of the season - a five yard pass from Philyaw.

FB/LB MARLION JACKSON carried the ball six times for 31 yards and two touchdowns. He has now rushed for five touchdowns in his last two games.

Dragons QB AARON GARCIA continued to shine since returning from an early-season injury, completing 26-of-43 passes for 279 yards and seven scores. WR JASON WILLIS led all receivers with 12 catches and a game-high 158 yards. WR KEVIN SWAYNE recorded nine catches for 93 yards and four touchdowns, earning Offensive Player of the Game honors.

The Cleveland Gladiators return home on Friday, May 2 when they host Jon Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul on $10 Buck Night.
