Gladiators Set to Open 2012 Training Camp

The Cleveland Gladiators will begin preparations for the 25th season of Arena Football League action, when the club opens their 2012 training camp on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20th at the MultiPlex, located at THE WORD CHURCH in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. The Gladiators kick off the 2012 regular season on the road against the Georgia Force on Monday, March 12th.

Players report on Saturday, February 18 and camp will break on Saturday, March 3rd. Each team may invite up to 35 players to training camp, with final rosters cut to the regular-season mandated 24 active players by March 3rd. The Gladiators roster currently stands at 35.

"We are excited to get our guys here and get started," Gladiators head coach Steve Thonn said. "We are the defending division champions and have a target on our backs. We're confident in our group and eager to see what they can do."

The 2012 roster features nine returners from the 2011 East Division Championship team. Back for their third seasons are QB JOHN DUTTON, WR ROBERT REDD and DB JOE PHINISEE. Redd, one of the more electrifying receivers in the AFL is joined by WRs DOMINICK GOODMAN and THYRON LEWIS, both entering their second season in Cleveland. Dutton, who missed all of the 2011 regular season with an injury, enters his 12th season in the league, and is one of the most prolific quarterbacks in AFL history.
