Gladiators Announce Acquisition of NBA Veteran

Aliso Viejo, CA (June 28, 2007) - The Orange County Gladiators of the ABA (American Basketball Association) today announced the signing of NBA veteran power forward Tony Farmer, 37 (6' 10", 245 lbs.) as the first player acquisition for the expansion franchise. Farmer's NBA experience includes stops with the Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors where he had his most productive season in 1999-2000 averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game over 74 games. His professional career spans over 15 years and also includes stops in the CBA, France, Italy, Russia, and ABA.

"We are very fortunate to have a person of Tony's experience and skill as our first acquisition", states David R. Clarke, President and Owner. "We will look for him to be a major contributor on the court while also leveraging his experience in mentoring the younger players on our roster. In addition to him playing for us, he will also work under Coach Joffe as Assistant Coach and will have input in both basketball and business operations".

Farmer, Coach Joffe, the OC Goddesses dance team and other Gladiator staff will be appearing at the 4th of July celebration at Grand Park in Aliso Viejo between the hours of 6-9PM.
