Gladiators and KVBC partner for Operation: Football
August 29, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Detroit Drive News Release
The Las Vegas Gladiators announced today they have again partnered with KVBC's News 3's "Operation: Football" for the 2005 high school football season.
For the third consecutive year, the Gladiators will reach out to the Southern Nevada community by rewarding a student-athlete for his or her achievements both on the playing field and in the classroom. These achievements are reflective of the players in the AFL, where the majority of the athletes have skills as two-way performers.
Student-Athletes must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible for the weekly award.
Athletes will be nominated for the award by their respective schools based on their weekly performance. Winners are recognized with a certificate presentation at their school featuring News 3 sports anchors Mitch Roberts or Rick Strasser and Gladiators' head coach Ron James. The presentation will be featured on News 3 sports each week.
Gladiators' 2006 season seats are on sale now. Fans interested in purchasing Gladiators' season seats can do so by calling the Gladiators office at 702-731-4977 or by going online at www.UNLVtickets.com.
