August 29, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Detroit Drive News Release
The Colorado Crush, in conjunction with Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain, announced a new multiyear agreement that would make FSN Rocky Mountain the exclusive regional home of the Colorado Crush games. The announcement was made today by John Elway, Co-Owner/Chief Executive Officer, Colorado Crush and Tim Griggs, FSN Rocky Mountain Vice President/General Manager.
Starting with the 2006 AFL regular season, FSN Rocky Mountain will be the new home of the Colorado Crush, airing at least five regular season games under its local agreement and five additional regular season games through a league-wide deal with FSN which started in 2005.
"We're excited to be teaming with Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain to bring Crush games to our fans," says Elway. "We are looking forward to a long partnership that we feel will benefit both entities. In addition, we are glad to build on the AFL's already strong national relationship with FSN by working together with Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain."
"We're extremely pleased to enhance our local programming with the defending AFL champion Colorado Crush," says Griggs. "This partnership will increase the network's viewer base and further expand our already extensive football coverage. I'm also pleased to build this partnership with Mr. Elway and Mr. Kroenke while also extending our affiliation with the Broncos and Mr. Bowlen."
Over the past two seasons, Comcast held local telecast rights for Colorado Crush games that were available after selections made by the AFL television partners, FSN and NBC. FSN Rocky Mountain's coverage of the Crush includes game telecasts, pregame shows and postgame reports and will be distributed in several states in the Rocky Mountain region.
The 2006 telecast schedule and talent assignments will be announced later this fall.
