Wichita Wild News Release
The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has re-signed their first player from the 2010 squad to a contract for 2011. Wide receiver Edgar Givens, who was a bright spot late in the season, has agreed to return for his second season with the Wild in 2011.
Givens burst onto the scene during the IFL playoffs when he compiled 10 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown in the Wild's three playoff games. In two regular season games Givens caught nine passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Givens played at the University of Central Missouri in 2007 and 2008 where he was a two-time letterman. He helped lead the team to a 7-4 record each year, while he majored in physical education.
In 2006 Givens played at Southwest Mississippi Community College where he led the team to an 8-3 record, and was an All Conference selection as a sophomore. Givens was also named a pre-season All American prior to the 2006 season. As a freshman at SMCC, Givens received an All Conference selection as the Bears went 7-4.
The 2011 season will kick-off in February with a complete schedule to be announced later this year. Season tickets start at just $80 and include FREE parking. Call the Wild office at 316-440-5044 for more information.
