Gilbert and Randazzo win TELUS Player of the Week awards

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, March 15, 2010 - Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward David Gilbert and Drummondville Voltigeurs defenseman Andrew Randazzo today were named the TELUS offensive and defensive players of the week (March 8 to 14).

Gilbert scored five goals and added two assists in three games for the Titan. Moreover, he posted a +2 rating. The Châteauguay native played his best game of the week on Friday, recording a hat-trick, including the game-winner, in a 6-4 win over the Mooseheads. The Chicago Blackhawks' 2009 seventh round pick has collected ten points in his last six games.

Gabriel Dumont (Voltigeurs), Philip-Michaël Devos (Tigres) and Sean Couturier (Voltigeurs) were also considered.

Andrew Randazzo gets the nod on defence after recording six assists in three Voltigeurs wins. Furthermore, he posted an excellent +7 rating. The Hamilton native enjoyed his best game of the week on Sunday, registering three assists in a 7-0 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs. Randazzo has points in his last four contests.

Louis Domingue (Remparts), Jake Allen (Voltigeurs) and Samuel Groulx (Tigres) were also in the running.
